Temple Cottage Kihikihi

Built in the late 19th Century for Militia on Alexandra Reserve in Kihikihi. Later given to Charles Temple to place on his land grant section in Whittaker Street. Three generations of Temples lived in the Cottage. On Isabella Temple's death in 1991, she bequeathed it to Te Awamutu Historical Society, who decided it should remain in Kihikihi. It was moved to Rata-Tu Hill Reserve in 1992 and restoration began in 1997.

Open to public on last Sunday of each month - except January -
or open by arrangement. Groups welcome, Contact 871 8673 or 871 8248.
